About Dr. Jester
I’m glad you’re here.
Beginning therapy or searching for the right therapist is a meaningful step, and I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me and my approach. Below, you’ll find more about my background, what it is like to work together, and the approaches I use in therapy. Additional details can be found in the FAQ section, and I welcome you to reach out with any questions.
Education & Training
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with training and experience in psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and the supervision and training of clinicians. I earned my Master of Science (M.S.) in Clinical Psychology in 2015 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology in 2019 from Texas A&M University. I completed my predoctoral internship at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System in Long Beach, California, where I received advanced training in evidence-based psychological treatment and assessment.
In addition to my clinical work, I taught undergraduate and graduate courses at a large university for six years while also supervising doctoral-level clinicians in training as they provided therapy and psychological assessment services. These experiences strengthened my commitment to thoughtful, evidence-based care and reinforced the importance of approaching each person with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
Where I Practice
I provide therapy exclusively via telehealth. I am based and licensed in Colorado and work with clients throughout the state through secure virtual sessions. As a member of PSYPACT, I can also provide telehealth services to clients who are physically located in participating PSYPACT states.
Therapeutic Approach & Style
Therapy is most meaningful when you feel comfortable showing up as yourself — without judgment, pressure, or pretense. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, understood, and genuinely supported as we explore the experiences, patterns, and challenges that matter most to you.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in evidence-based practice while remaining flexible to your unique needs, values, and goals. Together, we will work to deepen self-understanding, clarify what matters most to you, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with your values, relationships, and sense of self.
My style is warm and relational, while also offering honest feedback, thoughtful reflection, and gentle challenge when helpful to support growth and meaningful change. I strive to bring authenticity, curiosity, and warmth to each session — along with humor when appropriate — while creating a therapeutic space where you can feel both supported and empowered in the process of personal growth and self-discovery.
Areas of Focus
I work with adults navigating a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. Some of the concerns I commonly support include anxiety, stress and overwhelm, depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, trauma and difficult past experiences, self-esteem concerns, perfectionism, ADHD-related challenges, work stress and burnout, and a desire for greater self-understanding and personal growth.
You do not need to have a specific diagnosis or fit into a particular category to benefit from therapy. Many people seek therapy simply because something feels difficult, uncertain, or no longer sustainable — or because they want a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships.
How I Tailor Treatment
Research consistently shows that the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in meaningful therapeutic change. At the same time, many people find it helpful to understand the approaches a therapist uses in treatment.
My work is integrative, meaning I thoughtfully draw from different evidence-based approaches depending on each person’s unique needs, goals, and preferences. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor treatment collaboratively to support meaningful and lasting change.
Below are some of the evidence-based approaches I commonly draw from in therapy. You do not need to know anything about these treatments beforehand — together, we will determine what feels most helpful, supportive, and aligned with your goals.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): helps clients build skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness to better navigate life’s challenges and create a more fulfilling life.
